A recent trip to Spain

It has been so usually hot recently in the UK.  I have just got back from holiday in northern Spain and it was actually just as hot there as it was here, but the difference being that there was actually air conditioning where we were staying, a pool and a beach nearby and that made all the difference. In the UK when it is hot it is so uncomfortable because there just isn’t the infrastructure for it, for example if you go on a train you will most probably melt from the heat! 

We had a lovely time in Spain, we stayed in the Catalan region and it was lovely to go to Barcelona again as this was where we had our honeymoon! It was nice to visit the city again but it was a different holiday this time and we actually spent most of the day in Barcelona at the museum at CosmoCaixa which was actually pretty cool. 

It was also lovely to stay near the beach resort so our little one could have a splash in the sea. My husband often takes her swimming at home, so it was lovely to see the progression. 

We also visited the beautiful city of Girona and even though it was sunny and hot everywhere else it rained whilst we were there and there was a thunderstorm (literally just in Girona). I was so happy to get some respite from the heat, I was happy to get soaked! The cathedral in Girona was a location made famous in Game of Thrones so that was great to see. We were meant to visit one of the locations in Croatia but we never got around to it because of Covid so this was a nice little alternative to that. 

We had a great time but I honestly came home more tired than when I left because of the early flight home so it took me a day to recover! I was also glad it was a little bit cooler but the heatwave is persisting!
